For the detection of anaerobic and aerobic bacteria, use liquid thioglycolic acid medium (TGC medium) or modified thioglycolic acid medium (thioglycolic acid medium II), and for the detection of fungi and aerobic bacteria, use soybean casein digest medium (tryptosoybean broth) (Japanese Pharmacopoeia, 18th edition).
